I have never done a rooster. I took a workshop where the artist that was presenting has painted roosters and chickens to the pont she has gotten nation wide name recognition. Her paintings of barn yard birds are about 12 feet high which I can’t  imagine doing something so large. She was an excellent speaker and I thought I should give barn yard birds a try.  So here is my  portrait of   Mr Rooster king of the chicken yard.

I love to paint. It relaxes me. I have so many ideas swimming in my head that I can't sleep. I am focusing on watercolor now. Bright colors combined with memories of my crazy life. I don't paint flowers but I paint everything else...

  2. I think of the rooster as strutting around the yard looking to see if “the ladies” are aware of his magnificence. You really captured that in your painting.

    (He also looks like he would have nice fat drumsticks)
