The Wisdom of Children

I love talking with my granddaughter’s. Yesterday we were talking about gross food we have eaten and gross food we would never eat like frog legs, fish heads and cow feet. This morphed into discussing the mounting of dead animal heads onto a wall. When they died their animal spirit is still stuck to this wall grandma!!!!

So she then wanted to tell me a story about a store she stopped at while on spring break. She said this store was selling the tip of a fox’s tail. Not the entire tail just the end. It was very soft. She was going to buy it, but when she grabbed it she felt something hard. It was toe nails. “Grandma” she said, “it wasn’t a fox tail it was a bunny’s foot. There were like 20 bunny feet on a chain in that store!! All those bunnies died because someone wanted their foot!!!!!”

I didn’t have the heart to tell her that a rabbit’s foot is suppose to bring you luck. It sure doesn’t give the bunny luck now did it.

So in memory of all the bunnies who lost their feet this chart explains where it’s ok to pet a bunny. Note: nothing here says it’s ok to cut their little feet off.

For the love of bunny.

Small Wonders

Sometimes after painting something large I want to shift gears and paint something small. I can’t tell you how many rocks I’ve painted and small wood disks. A lot I assure you. Since it was fun painting small and my art studio (aka basement) needed organizing and cleaning I came across these wood disks. I remember buying them because I loved that had been laser cut on the edges. I pulled them out of my stack of future projects and decided to paint them.

They are 8” in diameter with the painting area of 4”. So I had to be creative on a small scale. So I’m done and selling them for $15 each. Hope you like them and you should see how organized my studio is. No, I’m not posting pictures you will just have to take my word “I’m organized”. 🤪

Bunny Clothes

Because my grandkids think I can pretty much make anything I’ve been asked to make clothes for a bunny. In all fairness I probably nudged the kids in the direction of thinking grandma is capable of all things. What can I say it’s not easy when they make me feel like a rock star.

So this is my second attempt of making bunny dresses. You see this “dwarf” bunny seems to be getting bigger then what the owner’s brochure said.

So I’ve make three sizes. I’ve also been asked to glam up the outfits. Apparently the little bunny is a bit of a diva. I will mail them out tomorrow.

I love being a grandma. I didn’t realize the pure joy this title gives me. My mom isn’t alive anymore but if she was I would tell her I’m sorry. I’m sorry for not bringing her granddaughter over more often then I had. My parents adored my daughter. It’s a different kind of love then the love of a parent and child. It’s different because you the grandparents are so glad to have lived long enough for this moment.

As a grandparent your never too tired. No request is usually denied and your time is their time. So when a granddaughter asks for bunny clothes you smile and ask, how many. ❤️
